Firouz D. Memarzadeh founded PARS Assets in 1987 as PARS Asset Management in Albuquerque, New Mexico.   The company relocated to San Diego in 1997 and is currently headquartered in the landmark Pyramid Building in San Diego.   Mr. Memarzadeh has been involved with commercial real estate acquisition, management and development since 1987.  Mr. Memarzadeh’s business acumen and his ability to recognize opportunities are some of the hallmarks of his career.

Mr. Memarzadeh is currently the owner of PARS Assets, along with other related commercial real estate investment companies, with properties in San Diego and Rancho Santa Fe, California; Annecy, France; and Albuquerque, New Mexico.  Currently, Mr. Memarzadeh entities own and operate the following properties:

  • San Diego Design Center Campus in San Diego, California, consisting of Office and Retail buildings, which includes the Pyramid Building;
  • North Pointe Office Plaza in Albuquerque, New Mexico;
  • Uptown Tower in Albuquerque, New Mexico;
  • 162 acres of resort land in Pietown, New Mexico;
  • Investment property in Rancho Santa Fe, California; and
  • Investment property in Annecy, France. 

Previous holdings include the following:

  • Residential holdings in Anchorage, Alaska, Socorro and Albuquerque, New Mexico and La Jolla, California;
  • Luxury apartments in Albuquerque, New Mexico;
  • Metroplex Retail and Industrial complexes in San Diego, California;
  • Iconic Belmont Park Amusement Family Fun Center in San Diego, California; and
  • 1001 McKinney, a 25-story office building with attached 12 story parking structure in Houston, Texas, a designated historic landmark since 1982.


Prior to undertaking his real estate investments, Mr. Memarzadeh originally worked as a Petroleum/Drilling/Production/Reservoir Engineer for British Petroleum Company [formerly Standard Oil Company of Ohio (SOHIO)], working on drilling sites in Anchorage and Prudhoe Bay, Alaska from June 1982 through September 1986.


                       

Mr. Memarzadeh’s educational background reflects his wide range of knowledge, including the following:

  • Sorbonne University, Paris, France, French Literature and Civilization, 1974.
  • September 1974 – May 1977, Arya Mehr University of Technology (AMUT), Corresponding University with MIT and Imperial College of London, Metallurgical Engineering
  • New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology (“New Mexico Tech”), B.S., Petroleum Engineering 1981. Graduated with Honors. 
·         New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology (“New Mexico Tech”), M.S., Petroleum Engineering 1982.  Graduated with Honors.  Thesis Topic: Numerical Simulation and Optimization of Diamond Bit Air Drilling, published 1982.
  • New Mexico Institute of Mining & Technology (“New Mexico Tech”), Ph.D. candidate, Petroleum Engineering, completed course work and oral defense exam 1991.  Dissertation Topic: Enhanced Oil Recovery-Directional and Horizontal Diamond Bit Air Drilling.
  • Major contributor in achieving patent for Design and Engineering of Nozzle Bit to create supersonic air flow at the bit orifice in Diamond Bit Air Drilling -1981-1982.
  • Member Tau-Beta-Pi National Engineering Honor Society.
  • Nominated Entrepreneur of the Year by Ernst & Young Kenneth Leventhal in 1998.
